Case Description

- 2005: Primary THA right, ex domo coxarthrosis
- 02/2021: Presented at the consultation with increasing pain in the right hip joint (for approx. 2 years)
- Radiological loosening of the screw-in cup and migration by approx. 20 mm cranially, tilting to 85° inclination
- Destruction of the acetabular bearing by the screw-in cup
- Puncture in ambulance: S. epidermidis (septic)
Course of Treatment

- 12/2019: Stem replacement with removal of long revision stem and fractured distal screws to LINK MP Reconstruction System with strut graft and screw osteosynthesis of fractured greater trochanter
- Anchoring of the stem over a length of approx. 7 cm
- Cup does not need to be changed, stable anchoring in the bone is maintained
- Components of the MP Reconstruction System:
- Stem: cementless, length 330 mm, prox. diameter 20 mm
- Neck Segment: XXL, length 35 mm, CCD 126°, offset 40 mm
- Prothesis head: Biolox delta 32 mm / M
Conclusion
Postoperative X-ray (proximal), 2-year follow-up
Postoperative X-ray (distal), 2-year follow-up
- In progress X-ray:
- No sintering of the MP Reconstruction System
- Bony integration of the strut
- Follow-up care:
- No weight bearing for 6 weeks
- Then X-ray and gradual weight bearing with 20 kg every 2 weeks
- Full weight bearing only from postoperative week 13
